<h3 class="editor-heading-h3">James and the Giant Peach Jr Production</h3><img src="/images/c23415e3-441d-4aac-97c2-9eb573704aed?fingerprint=ppb20260419185835" alt="JATGPJR" width="269" height="175" style="width:269px;height:175px;display:inline-block">Hey Loughborough, are you all ready to get Peachy Keen?We are very excited to announce that our large cast production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. is only weeks away from opening night! Our cast and crew have been having a great time singing, dancing, learning our lines, rehearsing, and creating some very fun and magical musical theatre.  You DON'T want to miss this event, it will be a Loughborough PS event to remember. The dates of the performances will be May 12th to May 14th , with a matinee show (12:00pm) and an evening show (7:00pm) on each of the three days.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show, and it will run for a little over 1 hour (no intermission). Tickets will be $10 per seat, and ticket information will be sent out this week.   We really hope you can join us for this exciting and whimsical musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's story.  Stay tuned! <h3 class="editor-heading-h3">LPS Track and Field</h3>Track and field tryouts will be starting next week! Students who are interested in participating should come to school each day prepared to run and jump. If your child is wishing to participate it is important that they have appropriate athletic clothing and running shoes.  We’re looking forward to a fun and active tryout season!. <h3 class="editor-heading-h3">Family Engagement and Climate Survey – Coming in May</h3>In early May, Limestone will be inviting families to take part in a Family Engagement and Climate Survey. The optional survey is anonymous, and families can choose which questions they want to answer.The survey asks about topics such as feeling connected to school, family involvement, safety and bullying, communication, before- and after-school programming, and how technology like artificial intelligence is used in schools.The feedback shared through this survey helps schools and the school board understand what is working well, what could improve, and what may make it harder for some families to take part. We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).  How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Dear Families,As we enter the spring season and final third of the school year, we are reminded of this season’s promise of renewal and growth, and the key role schools and families have together in supporting student learning and well-being. Reviewing and analyzing this information helps support safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environments and supports the board’s obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code. The findings support planning and decision-making that promotes equity, well being, and student success across Limestone schools. An overview of the Student Census 2025 was presented to the Board of Trustees at last night’s board meeting. We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of its 2026–2027 Student Trustees, who will be formally welcomed at the April meeting of the Board.Student trustees play an important role in bringing student perspectives to board-level discussions, helping ensure that student voice is reflected in decision-making across the district. Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). We've had 95 students from grades 1-8, working on creating the longest Rainbow Loom in Canada. The current Canadian record is 337 metres in length. With the help of Ms. Sinclair and 8 student leaders in grades 3 and 4, our Rainbow Loom club has created a Rainbow Loom that measures 440 metres in length.
