<h3 class="editor-heading-h3">Loughborough Track and Field Day- Grades 3 to 8</h3><img src="/images/59b68432-0a05-4504-8bda-36786b1567ae" alt="images" width="131" height="131" style="width:131px;height:131px;display:inline-block">Our Loughborough school track and field day is on Friday, May 1. All of our Lions in Grades 3 to 8 will participate in various track and field events. We encourage all our participating Lions to come dressed for the weather, have running shoes and bring lots of water and snacks. This survey gives families an opportunity to share their experiences with their student’s school and with the school board.The feedback helps us understand what is working well and where we can improve. We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).  How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Our cast and crew have been having a great time singing, dancing, learning our lines, rehearsing, and creating some very fun and magical musical theatre.  You DON'T want to miss this event, it will be a Loughborough PS event to remember. The dates of the performances will be May 12th to May 14th , with a matinee show (12:00pm) and an evening show (7:00pm) on each of the three days.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show, and it will run for a little over 1 hour (no intermission). Tickets will be $10 per seat, and ticket information will be sent out this week.   We really hope you can join us for this exciting and whimsical musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's story.  Stay tuned! <h3 class="editor-heading-h3">LPS Track and Field</h3>Track and field tryouts will be starting next week! Students who are interested in participating should come to school each day prepared to run and jump. Welcome to Loughborough Public School nestled in the beautiful village of Sydenham, about 20 minutes north of the city of Kingston. We are a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school that serves students in South Frontenac Township. Upcoming Family Engagement and Climate Survey

The Limestone District School Board is inviting families to take part in the Family Engagement and Climate Survey. This survey gives families an opportunity to share their experiences with their student’s school and with the school board.The feedback helps us understand what is working well and where we can improve. It also supports schools and school councils in building welcoming, safe, and supportive school communities.The survey includes questions about:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">How schools communicate and share information</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Whether families feel welcome, included, and connected</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Barriers to taking part in school activities, such as time, childcare, language, accessibility, or cost</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">Safety and bullying, including reporting and follow‑up</li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem">Licensed Before and After School Programs, including questions to help inform future planning</li><li value="6" class="editor-listitem">Some questions ask about family background to help us better understand different experiences across our communities</li></ul>Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Families may skip any questions they choose. No names or identifying information are collected. Results are shared only as grouped summaries and are used to support learning, planning, and improvement at the board, school, and school council levels.The survey will be open from May 1 to May 11 and will be available online.
