Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day

On Wednesday, February 25, we encourage all our Lions to wear a pink shirt or something pink for Pink Shirt Day. Together, we can practice kindness and wear pink to raise awareness around bullying and to show that Lions don't tolerate it.

Rainbow Loom Club and the Canadian Guinness Book of Records

We are very proud and excited to announce that our Rainbow Loom Club are looking to set a Canadian Guinness record. We've had 95 students from grades 1-8, working on creating the longest Rainbow Loom in Canada. The current Canadian record is 337 metres in length. With the help of Ms. Sinclair and 8 student leaders in grades 3 and 4, our Rainbow Loom club has created a Rainbow Loom that measures 440 metres in length. Next week, they will be interviewed by the Kingstonist and Frontenac News.  After that, they will officially register the record with the Guinness Book of Records and hopefully have it official by the end of the school year.

Winter Weather Outdoor Clothing

With the winter weather, comes colder and wetter weather conditions. When deciding if students will go outside for recess, we follow the Public Health extreme cold guidelines. Generally, if the temperature is forecast to be -25C or -28C with the windchill, children are kept inside. If the temperatures are below this threshold, we will try to make it outside for recess. It is important that students come to school with the appropriate outdoor clothing including: winter coat, snow pants, boots, mitts/gloves and a toque.

Register Your Child Now in LDSB

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.

In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.

The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).

To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
