LPS Food Drive Donations/Jingle Bell Walk

Thank you to all our Lions who brought in donations in support of our local food bank at The Grace Centre. It was amazing to see the amount of donations that were delivered during our Jingle Bell Walk. Thank you to all our parents and community members who joined our students for their walk to The Grace Centre. We are very lucky to be part of such a caring school community!

Hot Lunches and Inclement Weather

On days with inclement weather and when buses are cancelled, hot lunches will still be provided to students who are at school. For students who do not attend on inclement weather days, hot lunches will be provided to students on the next non-hot lunch day.

Winter Weather Outdoor Clothing

With the winter weather, comes colder and wetter weather conditions. When deciding if students will go outside for recess, we follow the Public Health extreme cold guidelines. Generally, if the temperature is forecast to be colder than -25C or -28C with the windchill, children are kept inside. If the temperatures are below this threshold, we will try to make it outside for recess. It is important that students come to school with the appropriate outdoor clothing including: winter coat, snow pants, boots, mitts/gloves and a toque.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
