Valentine's Day Cards

Day card templates ...

If you are sending in Valentine's Day cards with your child(ren) to hand out, please write 'To my friend', instead of writing each student's name. You can also leave it blank and have students write in their own names. If you are unsure of the amount of students in your child(ren)'s class, please reach out to the classroom teacher.

Red,White and Pink Day

On Friday, February 13, we encourage all our Lions to show their school spirit and wear something that is Red, White and/or Pink for Valentine's Day.

Report Cards and Teacher Communication

First-term report cards go home with students on Friday. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's report card, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Winter Weather Outdoor Clothing

With the winter weather, comes colder and wetter weather conditions. When deciding if students will go outside for recess, we follow the Public Health extreme cold guidelines. Generally, if the temperature is forecast to be -25C or -28C with the windchill, children are kept inside. If the temperatures are below this threshold, we will try to make it outside for recess. It is important that students come to school with the appropriate outdoor clothing including: winter coat, snow pants, boots, mitts/gloves and a toque.

Register Your Child Now in LDSB

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.

In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.

The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).

To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
