Bell Let's Talk Day
![]()
Wednesday, January 21 is Bell Let’s Talk Day. Bell Let's Talk Day is an opportunity to open the conversation around mental health and well-being and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health. This year's theme is 'taking a moment for mental health'. Classes will be participating in activities to support the focus of the day.
Family Literacy Day and Lions' Literacy Week
Tuesday, January 27 is Family Literacy Day. Family Literacy Day is dedicated to raising awareness around the importance of reading and engaging in literacy activities as a family. The theme of this year’s Family Literacy Day is ‘Make Mealtime Family Time’. To support Family Literacy Day, families are encouraged to visit the following link, Family Literacy Day, for fun activities and resources.
If you’re looking for a fun activity to do with the family on Thursday, January 22, families can sign up for a special event with author and illustrator Barbara Reid. Barbara will be doing a demonstration on how to use clay to create a picture. Her presentation will include sharing techniques you can use to make different things, followed by a question and answer session. The activity is geared towards students in grades 1 to 6. To register your child, please click here: Barbara Reid Presentation.
Our Loughborough Lions are going to recognize the importance of reading and writing during our Lions' Literacy Week from January 26 to January 30. On Tuesday, January 27, we encourage all our Lions to dress up as their favourite book character.
LPS Talize Fundraiser
We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).
How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.
See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
Lost and Found- Team ROAR
We have many items in our Lost and Found. Please visit Team ROAR to see if any items in our Lost and Found belong to your child.
