Staffing News

Please join us in wishing Mr. Kaileigh Reddick all the best as she prepares to welcome her baby. Ms. Reddick's last day with our Kinder students was on Friday, May 15. We can't wait to meet our newest Lion!

We are excited to welcome Ms. Sarah Peltier back from maternity leave.  Ms. Peltier will be back at Loughborough starting Tuesday, May 19.  We know that she and Ms. Thrasher will continue with the amazing learning that is already happening in our Kindergarten class.

Grade 3 and Grade 6 EQAO

These assessments, developed by Ontario teachers and assessment experts, are administered to all Grade 3 and Grade 6 students in Ontario’s publicly funded school system by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).

Our Grade 3 students will be completing their EQAO sessions on the following dates:

June 2, 3, 4, and 5

Our Grade 6 students will be completing their EQAO sessions on the following dates:

May 26, 27, June 2, 3, and 4

Dress Loud Day

Friday, May 22 is our Loughborough Dress Loud Day. It is a day for our Lions to wear their most wild, colourful and LOUD outfits to school, to support the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Hey Loughborough Families

On behalf of myself, the staff, and all of the actors and crew, I wanted to say THANK YOU for your support and appreciation with our production of James and the Giant Peach Jr! All of us involved in the production had an amazing time, and your feedback and reviews made us all feel so thankful!  Our 6 shows came together better than we could've hoped, with a triumphant final evening show last Thursday.  Even after all of the prep, dedication, rehearsal, and a run of back-to-back marathon shows, the cast and crew STILL wanted more shows!

It was an amazing experience working so closely with all of these talented, committed students, and we're really proud of our work.  Thank you all for helping to encourage the arts in our school, and making Loughborough Public School a place where students can have opportunities to shine and perform.

Register Your Child Now in LDSB

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.

In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.

The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).

To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.

Piano Lessons at LPS

Carolyn Schaub, who has been teaching piano at LPS and in the region since 2006, will be offering piano lessons at LPS again this year during the school day. Her goal is to instill the love of making music. Her teaching philosophy and the curricula she uses, can be found at www.carolynscreative.com.  The cost is $27.25 per lesson or $98.10 per month for the school year.  To reserve a piano spot or ask questions please emailcmschaub@sympatico.ca or call (613)376-6207.

Wednesdays will be Subway and Mike's Pizza Mac and Cheese, and Thursdays will be Gino’s Chicken Fingers & Fries.  Orders are due the Sunday prior to the week, at midnight.  Place your order at https://www.school-day.com

Late or Cancelled Buses

At times, our school buses are cancelled or late to pick up students in the morning or late to school to pick up students at the end of the day. If your child’s bus is late, please visit www.triboard.ca and click on Delays and Cancellations to check on the status of your child’s bus. As well, you can download the BusPlanner Delays app on your phone. Once you have downloaded the app, you can register to receive bus updates for Loughborough Public School.
