Happy Easter Long Weekend Lions
On behalf of all our LPS staff, we want to wish our Lions families a great Easter long weekend! We hope you get to enjoy time with family and friends.
World Autism Day
World Autism Awareness Day is on Thursday, April 2. We will join other LDSB schools in taking the time to recognize and spread awareness for the rights of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of individuals with ASD. We encourage all our Lions to wear red and/or blue to show our support for people with Autism.
LPS Cake Bingo
On Wednesday, April 1, we encourage all Lions' families to join us for a night of fun with our LPS Cake Bingo. Bring your bingo dabbers and play Bingo for your chance to win a cake! It all starts at 6:00 pm in the LPS gym. For $10 per person, you will be able to play 12 games of Bingo, with 12 chances to win a cake. Bingo dabbers, drinks and refreshments will be available for purchase. To help support our fundraiser, we are in need of cake donations (homemade or store bought). All proceeds go to support student activities at Loughborough. If you're planning on attending and/or can donate a cake, please fill out this Google form: Bingo Form

Register Your Child Now in LDSB
Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.
In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.
The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).
To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.
LPS Talize Fundraiser
We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).
How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.
See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
Lost and Found- Team ROAR
We have many items in our Lost and Found! Team ROAR meets weekly to organize the items. Please encourage your child(ren) to stop by the front foyer before Friday as we will be donating all items that are leftover. Click here to view an updated visual of the lost & found items.
Piano Lessons at LPS
Carolyn Schaub, who has been teaching piano at LPS and in the region since 2006, will be offering piano lessons at LPS again this year during the school day. Her goal is to instill the love of making music. Her teaching philosophy and the curricula she uses, can be found at www.carolynscreative.com. The cost is $27.25 per lesson or $98.10 per month for the school year. To reserve a piano spot or ask questions please emailcmschaub@sympatico.ca or call (613)376-6207.

Wednesdays will be Subway and Mike's Pizza Mac and Cheese, and Thursdays will be Gino’s Chicken Fingers & Fries. Orders are due the Sunday prior to the week, at midnight. Place your order at https://www.school-day.com
Late or Cancelled Buses
At times, our school buses are cancelled or late to pick up students in the morning or late to school to pick up students at the end of the day. If your child’s bus is late, please visit www.triboard.ca and click on Delays and Cancellations to check on the status of your child’s bus. As well, you can download the BusPlanner Delays app on your phone. Once you have downloaded the app, you can register to receive bus updates for Loughborough Public School.
