Pride Month

During the month of June, we will celebrate and recognize Pride Month. Not only is this a time to recognize the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ2S+ communities but also reflect on our own impact in creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and has a place. During the month of June, students at Loughborough will be focusing on diversity and inclusion.

We also encourage all our Lions to join other LDSB schools and students on Saturday, June 13 for the Kingston Pride Parade. Everyone is welcome!

National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month. In recognizing National Indigenous History Month, we celebrate and honour the diversity, culture and history of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Together, we all play a part in creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone is accepted, and diversity is honoured.

Ontario Day

Ontario Day, recognized on June 1, is a time to celebrate everything that makes Ontario strong and unique. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our history, our people and the countless contributions made by communities across the province every day.

National Accessibility Week

The week of May 31 to June 6 is National Accessibility Week. It is an opportunity to show our commitment to removing barriers and promoting inclusion for people of all abilities. We encourage all our Lions to wear a red shirt on Wednesday, June 3 to show our support for accessibility and inclusion.

Loughborough Family Fun Night- Thank You

On behalf of our LPS Student Advisory Council and LPS staff, we want to thank all our Lions who joined us for our Family Fun Night. It was an amazing night with lots of fun and exciting activities.

We also want to give a big thank you to our amazing SAC for all their work and effort organizing the night.

Thank you to our Loughborough community for their continued support of our school fundraising initiatives.

Tick Checks

With the nicer weather, classes will be spending more time outside and participating in outdoor field trips. A friendly reminder to all our Lions' families to do daily tick checks on your child(ren).

Register Your Child Now in LDSB

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.

In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.

The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).

To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

Update: Our TALIZE fundraiser is ONGOING!
This means there is no deadline for donation, and LPS will continue to accrue funds throughout the summer and into next school year!

Lost and Found- Team ROAR

We have many winter and spring items in our Lost and Found! Team ROAR meets  often to organize these items. Please encourage your child(ren) to stop by the front foyer before the end of June as we will be donating all items that are leftover.

Click here to view an updated visual of the lost & found items.

Hot Lunch

Loughborough PS offers the option to order hot lunch 3 days a week. New this year, we will have pizza on Tuesdays from Mike’s Pizza, right here in Sydenham. Wednesdays will be Subway and Mike's Pizza Mac and Cheese, and Thursdays will be Gino’s Chicken Fingers & Fries.  Orders are due the Sunday prior to the week, at midnight.  Place your order at https://www.school-day.com

Late or Cancelled Buses

At times, our school buses are cancelled or late to pick up students in the morning or late to school to pick up students at the end of the day. If your child’s bus is late, please visit www.triboard.ca and click on Delays and Cancellations to check on the status of your child’s bus. As well, you can download the BusPlanner Delays app on your phone. Once you have downloaded the app, you can register to receive bus updates for Loughborough Public School. Once you are registered, you will receive notifications regarding your child(ren)'s bus status if they are delayed or cancelled.
