James and the Giant Peach Jr Production

JATGPJR

Hey Loughborough, are you all ready to get Peachy Keen?

We are very excited to announce that our large cast production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. is only weeks away from opening night! Our cast and crew have been having a great time singing, dancing, learning our lines, rehearsing, and creating some very fun and magical musical theatre.  You DON'T want to miss this event, it will be a Loughborough PS event to remember.

The dates of the performances will be May 12th to May 14th , with a matinee show (12:00pm) and an evening show (7:00pm) on each of the three days.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show, and it will run for a little over 1 hour (no intermission). Tickets will be $10 per seat, and ticket information will be sent out this week.

We really hope you can join us for this exciting and whimsical musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's story.  Stay tuned!

LPS Track and Field

Track and field tryouts will be starting next week! Students who are interested in participating should come to school each day prepared to run and jump. If your child is wishing to participate it is important that they have appropriate athletic clothing and running shoes.  We’re looking forward to a fun and active tryout season!.

Family Engagement and Climate Survey – Coming in May

In early May, Limestone will be inviting families to take part in a Family Engagement and Climate Survey. The optional survey is anonymous, and families can choose which questions they want to answer.

The survey asks about topics such as feeling connected to school, family involvement, safety and bullying, communication, before- and after-school programming, and how technology like artificial intelligence is used in schools.

The feedback shared through this survey helps schools and the school board understand what is working well, what could improve, and what may make it harder for some families to take part. Your feedback helps strengthen communication, support student well-being, and improve school experiences for everyone.

More information will be shared leading up to the survey being live in early May. Families are encouraged to watch a short video featuring Senior Staff and a Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) Co-Chair, who share more about the Family Engagement and Climate Survey and why family voice is so important.

Register Your Child Now in LDSB

Do you have a child ready to start Kindergarten this September? If your child is four- or five-years-old by the end of December (2026), now is the time to register. Limestone offers Kindergarten in both English and French Immersion—where 85% of instruction is in French—plus a strong focus on the core skills of reading, writing, and math. With greater choice in schools and future programming, your child can discover a sense of belonging, while learning the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. For more information, please visit limestone.on.ca/kindergarten.

In Limestone, students may be permitted to attend any school within the board when there is available student space, upon submission and approval of the proper application. Please note only one application per student can be processed; please do not submit more than one application for multiple school locations. If multiple applications are submitted, families will be contacted to select which school application they would like processed, and all other applications will be removed from the system.

The board is not responsible for the provision of any transportation for students outside of their regular school boundary area. This applies to both students within Limestone’s geographic boundaries (out of boundary), and students who live outside of those boundaries (out of district).

To find the name and location of your in-boundary or home school(s), enter the student’s home address into Tri-Board's Locate A School tool.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
