Indigenous Education Month
The month of November is Indigenous Education Month. During the month, we will be taking the time to learn and deepen our understanding of Indigenous history, cultures, and traditions. Throughout the month, staff will be implementing Indigenous teachings, lessons, and activities into their daily programming.
Our Lions will recognize Treaties Recognition Week from November 2 to November 8. The week is dedicated to honoring the importance of treaties and helps students to learn more about treaty rights and relationships. The week was created in 2016 and was one of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action as way to honoring the importance of treaties and to help students learn more about treaty rights and relationships as we work towards reconciliation.
International Inuit Day will be recognized on Friday, November 7. International Inuit Day is a day to learn more about Inuit cultures, languages, and innovations from across Canada.
National Indigenous Veterans Day is recognized every November 8th. Classes will be recognizing National Indigenous Veterans Day by learning about the impact and contributions of Indigenous peoples and learning about the monuments that are dedicated to Indigenous peoples who have and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. Part of this learning will be about teaching and understanding the distinct experiences that Indigenous peoples faced while serving and returning from military service.
On November 14, our Lions will recognize and commemorate the legacy of Louis Riel. We will take the time to reflect on his impact and recognize his advocacy and sacrifices for the protection of the rights and culture of the Metis peoples.
Peanut and Tree Nut Free
A friendly reminder that Loughborough PS is a Peanut/Tree Nut Aware school, when sending your child in with Halloween candy. We have several students who have severe peanut and tree nut allergies. We appreciate your support in ensuring our students' safety.
Lost and Found- Team ROAR
We have many items in our Lost and Found. Please visit Team ROAR to see if any items in our Lost and Found belong to your child.
Remembrance Day/Poppies
On Tuesday, November 11, our Loughborough Lions will be commemorating Remembrance Day. This is an opportunity for our Lions to honor those who have served and continue to serve our country. We encourage all our Lions to wear red and black for Red, Black and Poppy Day.
As well, all students will be given a poppy from the Royal Canadian Legion. Students are encouraged to bring in a donation to support the Legion.
Scholastic Book Fair
Our Loughborough Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for the week of November 10 to November 13. Students will have the opportunity to purchase books starting on Monday, November 10. On Monday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 12, the book fair will remain open until 5:00 for families to visit and to purchase books.
See Yourself in Limestone- Student Census Survey
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall.
The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Important information for families:
- The survey is optional.
- Responses are confidential and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer.
- Students will complete the survey during class time.
- Students who do not participate will be provided with an alternative activity.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact their school principal by Friday, November 14, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.
By better understanding students’ identities and experiences, we can remove barriers and better support students in accessing what they need to succeed.

2026-2029 LDSB Accessibility Plan
The Limestone District School Board is committed to fostering accessibility and inclusion for all. We are currently developing our next Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and invite feedback from students, staff, families, and community members.
Your input will help ensure our goals reflect the diverse needs and lived experiences across our school communities. Please visit bit.ly/LDSB2025-2029AccessibilityPlan to provide input. The survey is open until November 10, 2025.
