Happy Holidays from LPS

On behalf of all the Loughborough staff, we want to wish our Lions a safe and healthy holiday break. Hopefully, your holiday break is filled with moments you will remember and cherish. As we reflect on the first four months of school, it is important that we continue to recognize everything to be grateful for. As a staff, we are grateful for our Loughborough community and everything that you have done to support our Lions. We wish you all health and happiness and we can’t wait to see our Lions in the new year.

Aubrey Holmstead GoFundMe Page

We would like to share the inspiring story of one of our Lions, Aubrey Holmstead, who is courageously battling brain cancer. Aubrey has already undergone two surgeries to remove the tumour, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience. As she embarks on the next stage of her recovery, Aubrey and her family will need to travel from Ottawa to Chicago for at least six weeks to receive specialized proton radiation therapy. This journey brings not only emotional challenges but also significant financial costs due to the cost of accessing this advanced treatment.

To help support Aubrey and her family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been created. We kindly invite you to show your support—whether by making a donation, sharing the page, or keeping the family in your thoughts. Every contribution can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can show our support for Aubrey and her family.

You can visit the GoFundMe page here: Aubrey Holmstead GoFundMe Page.

LPS Talize Fundraiser

We are excited to announce a new fundraiser happening from now until the end of May 2026! We have partnered with Talize Kingston to raise money for student activities. For those who are not familiar with Talize, they are a Canadian-owned and operated for-profit thrift retailer with an outlet in Kingston's West End (near Reid's Dairy).

How do we make money? Talize weighs donations that are made in support of LPS and will give us 20 cents per pound of clothing and housewares, and 10 cents per pound of media (books, CDs etc.). Donations must be given to an attendant at the donation centre during open hours (around the right side of the building) and you must mention that it is in support of Loughborough Public School's fundraiser.

See the flyers below for more information, including what items are accepted and what are not.
