KFL&A Public Health has been notified that a second student at Loughborough Public School tested positive for COVID-19 on Sept. 24, 2021. This brings the total to two cases in the school. This does not constitute an outbreak as the cases were not transmitted at school. One additional class cohort has been asked to isolate. One class cohort and one bus cohort were dismissed early on Sept. 23, 2021. All are following public health protocols. The school remains open at this time to all other students and staff.

In the interests of maintaining privacy, the board will not identify people that have received positive COVID-19 tests.

Affected members of the school community have been notified. At this time, the school remains open.

KFL&A Public Health and the school are taking all necessary steps to prevent further spread of the virus both in the school and the community.

KFL&A Public Health is working with the school to identify cohorts of students and staff who may be at risk of COVID-19 from this exposure. Not all students will be affected by this situation.

Families should carefully review this KFL&A Public Health Letter to the LPS School Community.
