Gym Update October 4

Gym Update for October
Posted on 10/04/2019

October 4, 2019

As you may have noticed, our gym has been undergoing significant maintenance for most of the summer and the fall. Much of this construction is now complete, however, there will still be work completed throughout October and November.

We understand there will perhaps be two to three more weeks of “noisy” work but then the rest will involve finishing and detail work such as replacing lighting and painting. All of the work areas will be cordoned off with fencing to ensure student and staff safety, and protected coverings are being placed over any entrances/exits into our building that require this.  Part of our outdoor yard will also be fenced off as much of the loud work will be completed outside.  During this time students will continue to be able to enjoy most of our yard, but sections will be fenced off and certain entrances will be off limits to staff and students. As well, we have asked the construction team to suspend work during our outdoor recess time.

Some construction vehicles will be in our parking lot as well as in the fenced off areas during this work and we would ask that families who are picking up and dropping off their children to be mindful to ensure the safety of students.

We are working closely with the Board’s Facility Services team and the contractor to minimize the impact on students and staff during learning. There may be some noise, but we do hope that will be short-lived so that classes are as unaffected as possible.

The cooperation of students, staff and families is greatly appreciated while repairs and improvements to our gymnasium and stage are underway. Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school.
